2020 Winners

This immersive display for Dani at 2 x 1.3 metres has been expertly created in Areos CAD, Solid Edge utilising Abiplex Honeycomb recyclable board, printed using HP 11000 UV digital printing and uses a combination of Esko and Phoenix cutting and folding technologies. It has been hand finished with illumination from the lighthouse which forms the perfect narrative for this seafood brand.

This presentation gift set has been printed on 7 colour, including white, combi UV Heidelberg with Silver Metpet to the lid and velvet lamination to the lid and base. It has been finished with 5 UV varnish techniques, including Ruff UV, Spot UV, Crystal UV, Wrinkle and Reflective UV onto gold laminated folding box board.

This vacuum formed and selectively lit fridge door cover has been created by screen printing multiple layers of red, metallic silver and opaque black. It has subsequently been vacuum formed and fitted with clear laser cut raised LED backlit lettering. 

This fine art limited edition portfolio containing 8 prints with titled inter leaving, has been hard case bound using binder screws. All printed in stochastic, these 52 cm x 1 metre prints, have been screen printed in two water based inks onto 240 gsm mineral paper.

This car wrap for the Streatgasm 2000 Rally, inspired by a rollercoaster at the Toverland themepark has been created with a 3D Pheonix head attached to the bonnet surrounded by a printed base wrap on 3M films including reflective grade and silver, printed using Roland wide format and CAD cut on Zund S3. The feathers were hand drawn, cut and applied to the bodywork individully to acheive the finished wrap.    

This A2 special effects calendar has been digitally printed using AGFA's Jeti Mira 2716HS8 LED and CAD cut using Zund G3. The metallic fish and crustaceans have white surface texturing overprinted with UV 4 colour process and have been finished with high build structured digital varnish, which have then been mounted.

This 3D raised relief design, printed at 220 x 280 mm, has been achieved with two part mould and silicone, then overprinted in-line using plasitsol ink. The centre letters have been filled with clear silicone with dispersed caviar beads.

This water based discharge print, at 380 x 480 mm, with print on front, back and sleeve has been printed on a ROQ with Magna discharge white and Virus Wow clear Inks in cyan, magenta, yellow and black.

This event branding project for the ANOC World Beach Games in Qatar combined over 28,600 square metres of branding elements. It covers 34, 15 metre tall light towers and a vast mix of perimiter advertising, hoarding and event signage built around a total of 213 Autocad drawings. It has been direct printed dye sublimation, using EFI Reggiani and Mimaki printers, and subsequently Monti heat pressed onto 100% polyester using dispersed dyes for B1 fire rating. The majority are finished with grommets every 50 cm. On site fitting involved 23 installers. Additionally, 110 buses were branded and over 300 square metres of flag fabric.
 

This theatre staging project in Sweden required the same luxurious surface pattern to be applied at different scales to ceiling, drapes, curtains, wall covering and upholstery and has been finished with printed carpet. It has been printed using Mimaki TS34 onto paper before sublimation to the fabric using Klieverik calendar. The project involved printing onto various polyester substrates, including velvet and carpeting.
 

This 3 x 0.85 metre Stella Artois mirror sign has been produced through selective sand blasted using Ultra Mark 3500 vinyl, followed by a pour of animal glue and hand cutting decorative ornamets. The resulting chipped decorative fragments have been chemically silvered and hand gilded. The final result has been mounted in a wooden frame.

This 2 x 0.6 metre 3D printed beer bottle has been created in SketchUp, MakePrintable and Adobe Illustrator software before being 3D printed using BigRep ONE. The 3D print features a combination of Epson print onto Oracal foil and spray painting. It has been located to appear as if smashing through the window.

This hand-painted sign writing project in Waterloo involved sign writing on delapidated walls suffering from damp. The entire project requried rescaling and adaptation on site and specialist coatings before sign writing began. A huge variety of sign writing techniques and materials were involved to execute the creative scheme by painting  to walling, floors and through the application of mounted graphics.

This membrane switch keyboard is a fully programmable integrated device with built in controller and touchpad and mounted to PCB. It has been screen printed on semi automatic press in 13 passes using UV inks with raised 3D UV to create embossed appearance. It has been printed on clear polycarbonate with selective UV varnich on the top side with keys accented with liquid silver ink.

This Interior project features designs by Beth Travers of BOBO1325. Utilising Hand drawn sketches and CAD / CAM, to create unique designs, and a colour coordinated collection of custom printed fire resistant Interior furnishings to client specification. All Textiles and Wallcoverings have been sourced and specified to comply with contract Interior specifications. Textiles are manufactured using the Dye sublimation print process and Wallcoverings using Digital print technology.

This 4 colour process UV printing project has been printed using Nano semi automatic print machine with additional UV special effect varnishes. Both high build varnish and textured varnish have been used to creatively accent surface detail. Printed substrates were self adhesive vinyl and matt duplex board.
