GOLD WINNER: CARDINIA REAL ESTATE UK - LONDON

SIGNBOX LIMITED

C5 shortlist 3.PNG

Breathing life into the new London HQ of a global marketing communications group, we printed and installed 39 graphic artworks by five prominent artists. Inspired by the sites, scenes and people of London, these vibrant colourful prints were installed across all floors of two prominent two buildings on the Southbank.
The site had previously been occupied by Royal Bank of Scotland and the neutral, bland interiors did not reflect an appropriate environment for a global leader in marketing communications. The agencies selected a number of artists to create works for the building and we diligently facilitated the process of bringing their vision to life – advising on the most appropriate choice of materials to
use for the varying locations, and printing and installing the chosen artworks across the site. For the permanent wall art we specified digitally printed Digimura 2.1, a Class-O fire rated wall covering. For interactive wall art we used Teslaflex - a genius printable ferrous film with a highgrade flexible magnetic base and self-adhesive back that’s durable, cost-effective and can be installed on any flat surface that has something to shout about. But the real joy of Teflaflex is the speed and ease with which its components can be removed, reused and adapted to update the message, to shift the focus or simply to keep it relevant and fresh. A glazed link rising through 7 floors between the two buildings was decorated with a 23 micron polyester tinted window film, creating a multi-coloured environment during the day and projecting a stunning back-lit display at night. **Testimonial from Cardinia Real Estates UK Limited:** > *Signbox produced and installed numerous high quality artwork graphics to reflect the character and location for Bankside 2&3. The work ethic and support from Signbox was excellent - they were fundamental in the delivery of a challenging project which has generated great comments and feedback from our Agencies and Clients.*

TECHNIQUE: SIGNBOX HAD TO WORK TO A TIGHTLY SEQUENCED OUT OF HOURS INSTALLATION PROGRAMME AND THE TWO VERY LARGE MULTI-DROP WALL GRAPHICS IN THE ATRIUM AREA (WHICH MEASURE 14.2M WIDE BY 3.8M HIGH). REQUIRED THE USE OF HIGH-LEVEL ACCESS PLATFORMS AND HIGHLY SPECIALIST APPLICATION PROCESSES. GREAT CARE NEEDED TO BE TAKEN THAT THE WALL COVERING WAS NOT STRETCHED IN APPLICATION, AS EVEN MOVEMENT OF A FEW MILLIMETRES WOULD HAVE AFFECTED THE INTRICATE GEOMETRIC PATTERN, ACROSS THE PRINT.
EQUIPMENT: THE FULL PROJECT INVOLVED INSTALLING DIGITALLY PRINTED COVERINGS (DIGIMURA 2.1), DIGITALLY PRINTED FERROUS WALL GRAPHICS (TESLAFLEX), SELF-COLOURED TINTED WINDOW FIOLMS (REFLECTIV) AND TOUCH LAMINATED HIGH-TACK VINYL WALL WRAPPING FILM. THESE WERE ALL PRINTED BY SIGNBOX IN-HOUSE ON THEIR HP LATEX PRINTERS AND PRECISION CUT ON THE ZUND S3 DIGITAL CUTTER.
PRINT VOLUME: IN TOTAL SIGNBOX SUPPLIED 315M2 OF TINTED GLAZING FILM AND 352 M2 OF DIGITALLY PRINTED WALL COVERINGS FOR THE PROJECT.

SILVER WINNER: PADDOCK GENERAL OFFICE - LIC MOTOGP DECALS

THE LOOK COMPANY

Our task was to revamp the faded, corrugated and rusted Paddock Office of the Losail International Circuit MotoGP. We had to provide
permanent branding solution to bring the building to life. Acceleration, adrenaline, endurance, man versus machine, this is the name of the game when it comes to the world of Moto GP. This is one of the most anticipated events in Qatar and around the World. The World Moto Grand Prix was held at Losail International Circuit (LIC) On March 23-26, 2017 in Doha, Qatar. The Losail International Racing Circuit management’s vision was to create a memorable fan experience, by
allowing fans to roam freely in the paddock areas. Thus, allowing fans to engage with riders and racing teams before and after the races. Our company was tasked with the conceptual design to make their visions and dreams come through. We were able to offer the client full turnkey branding solution, changing what was once a dream into a memorable and engaging experience for both the Circuit management and fans alike.
As we worked thought the various phases comprising of scoping, design, value engineering, budget management, brand activation, production delivery and project management, we were able to guide the client every step of the way.

TECHNIQUE: OUR MAIN CHALLENGE WAS TO REVAMP AND GIVE LIFE TO AN OLD PADDOCK OFFICE THAT HAS BEEN STANDING ON THE TRACK FOR YEARS. THE SURFACE AREA BEING CORRUGATED COVERED WITH SURFACE RUST WAS A DAUNTING TASK TO SAY THE LEAST. AFTER OUR VISUAL INSPECTION, IT WAS CLEAR THAT THIS WAS GOING TO BE VERY CHALLENGING. OUR FIRST STEP WAS TO PRESSURE WASH AND CLEAN ALL THE WALLS AND TO REMOVE ALL POSSIBLE DEBRIS THAT COULD HINDER OR AFFECT THE QUALITY OF OUR INSTALLATION. OUR FINAL CHOICE OF MATERIAL WAS LG SUPER TACK WITH 3M UV CAST LAMINATION. THE REASON FOR THIS CHOICE WAS THAT BOTH PRODUCTS HAVE EXCELLENT ADHESION AND CONFORMABILITY WHICH WOULD BE MUCH NEEDED IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS APPLICATION WORK. SCANNING THE BUILDING USING OUR LEICA SCANNER TO BUILD A POINT CLOUD AND GATHER DATA AND MEASUREMENT WAS EXECUTED AND WE PASSED ALONG ALL THE RELEVANT INFORMATION TO OUR DESIGN TEAM FOR DESIGN AND BRAND ADAPTATION. THIS ALLOWED THEM TO WORK ACCURATELY IN THEIR PLACEMENT OF ALL ARTWORKS AND ENSURING THAT NONE OF THE ARTWORKS ARE CUT OFF BY WINDOWS, DOORS, PROTRUSIONS AND OTHER ELEMENTS. SEEING THAT WE ALREADY HAD OTHER BRANDING BEING INSTALLED FOR THE MOTOGP, IT WAS IMPERATIVE TO ENSURE BRAND UNIFORMITY AND COLOR MATCHING WITH THE REST OF THE EVENT. AS A COMPANY WE PRIDE OURSELVES IN OUR SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY TO EXECUTE JUST THAT. THE BRANDING ON THE BUILDING REPRESENTS A TIMELINE SHOWCASING QATAR, BEING A PROUD HOSTING NATION AND VENUE FOR THE MOTOGP DATING BACK TO 2004. EVERY POSSIBLE ATTENTION TO DETAIL WAS ADHERED TO WHEN INSTALLING THIS BRANDING, AS THIS WAS THE MAIN FOCAL POINT IN THE MAIN PADDOCK AREA OF THE TRACK. THE VISUAL RESULTS ACHIEVED WAS WELL RECEIVED BY THE CLIENT AND ARE DEMONSTRATED IN OUR VISUAL SUBMISSION.
