    STAND TURISMO DO CENTRO
    By OCYAN
    from PORTUGAL

The stand presented in this application highlighted the presence of Turismo do Centro de Portugal in the 2017 edition of Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa (BTL) at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL), with a 650 m2 implementation area and a 7-metre high construction. The stand had a common zone, labelled Central Square, with 450 m2, where plentiful entertainment and public presentations took place during the whole period of the fair, and 8 public access tunnels to the Central Square, where each region of Central Portugal ensured public information desks, and thousands of visitors crossed every day. Two rooms to hold meetings and receive private investors were also ensured, as well as technical areas for the stand’s audio-visual resources. All these rooms were constructed using printed honeycomb cardboard walls and ceilings. The whole structure was designed and produced to be assembled by fitting systems, safeguarding its greater sturdiness and, at the same time, cleverly conceived so that it could be assembled more quickly using an instruction manual. This was the first stand made in Portugal with such implementation area, and 100% recyclable construction features, produced in Hexaboard honeycomb cardboard and textiles printed with digital inkjet technology. The applicant company was accountable for every stage in the project: the structural technical design of the project in CAD system, pre-printing, printing, finishing, and implementation/assembly of the stand at the FIL. 2,400 m2 of hexagonal honeycomb cardboard were used and printed, in a total of 4.5 tonnes, as well as 1,200 m2 of textile weighing 300 kg. These materials were collected at the end of the fair by a recycling company, thus ensuring that each used material re-entered a circuit of environmental awareness, proving that there are new means of temporary construction, in which paper has a say in terms of cost and sustainable production. Supporting materials for the entry: Brochure with 3D stand images, Sketchups, 3D details of the fittings. Images of press sheets and cuts, plans, 3D with measurements, photographs of the stand at work.

Silkscreen using 35 colours from a painting by Lizzie Richards. The use of multiple colours was used to create a painted texture to the final image.Creating the separations for the print required us the think about where the texture would be created. A set of cmyk screen printed colours was used as a starting point but then individual colours were separated and printed using artist pigments to closely match that of the original. Flatbed Digital Varnish with a little black was added at the end of production to help add a varnish texture to some areas.

Breathing life into the new London HQ of a global marketing communications group, we printed and installed 39 graphic artworks by five prominent artists. Inspired by the sites, scenes and people of London, these vibrant colourful prints were installed across all floors of two prominent two buildings on the Southbank.
The site had previously been occupied by Royal Bank of Scotland and the neutral, bland interiors did not reflect an appropriate environment for a global leader in marketing communications. The agencies selected a number of artists to create works for the building and we diligently facilitated the process of bringing their vision to life – advising on the most appropriate choice of materials to use for the varying locations, and printing and installing the chosen artworks across the site. For the permanent wall art we specified digitally printed Digimura 2.1, a Class-O fire rated wall covering. For interactive wall art we used Teslaflex - a genius printable ferrous film with a highgrade flexible magnetic base and self-adhesive back that’s durable, cost-effective and can be installed on any flat surface that has something to shout about. But the real joy of Teflaflex is the speed and ease with which its components can be removed, reused and adapted to update the message, to shift the focus or simply to keep it relevant and fresh. A glazed link rising through 7 floors between the two buildings was decorated with a 23 micron polyester tinted window film, creating a multi-coloured environment during the day and projecting a stunning back-lit display at night. **Testimonial from Cardinia Real Estates UK Limited:** > *Signbox produced and installed numerous high quality artwork graphics to reflect the character and location for Bankside 2&3. The work ethic and support from Signbox was excellent - they were fundamental in the delivery of a challenging project which has generated great comments and feedback from our Agencies and Clients.*

Flowbox is a state-of-the-art dynamic display which allows you to combine textile images with videos and background animations, in order to give printed images movement. However, in our company, we wanted to go beyond this product, so we combined it with double-sided printing; the exterior of the printed object on the visible side (in this case the chassis of a car) and the interior of the object which was previously invisible (in this case the “inside” of the car). By playing with dynamic backlighting, we can use this printing technique to do “magic” for our clients, as the interior of the car suddenly appears, which created a lot of excitement at the Euroshop 2017 Exhibition (Düsseldorf, Germany) where we presented it.

TED BAKER STORE SYNERGY - TRADITIONAL HANDED PAINTED SIGNAGE WITH A TWIST
    By HNS SIGNS
    from UNITED KINGDOM

HNS Signs delivered an aesthetic mix of traditional sign writing with a classic edge to support the opening of their two new stores in Bicester and Oxford. Uniqueness of this project came after the original plan of using a vinyl stencil proved unsuitable, so we used an intricate trace to achieve a worn chalkboard look instead which produced an outstanding result. Taking nearly five hours to mark each board by hand and a further seven to sign-write and finish, the displays were lovingly crafted with some text only being 2mm high. This attention to detail instantly won the team three more sign orders as Ted Baker could see the professionalism and true skill needed to craft such works of art. The next signage project with Ted Baker turned their attentions to the main wall space and changing rooms in their Oxford store which needed a luxurious feel. Besides this, the team expressed a desire to incorporate those little touches that help to make their stores feel special and to enhance the overall customer experience. Again, as the store interior walls had a textured and rough finish, the HNS Sign team had to think on their feet and used a stencil and finches, traditional handing finishing techniques that are priceless and look great. Looking at the store branding across the UK, Ted Baker has committed to a long-term working relationship which helps build the brand and as they expand and develop, but also gives them the competitive edge.
